Pearl is the official birthstone for June. Fresh Water Pearl is farmed in fresh water. Pearl is an organic gem, formed inside mollusks such as oyster and mussels. A lustrous substance, called nacre, is secreted around the object to protect the soft internal surface of the mollusk. Layer upon layer of nacre coats the irritant and a pearl is formed. Cultured or freshwater pearls are considered to offer the power of love, money, protection, and luck.
In the descriptions are the folklore, myth and "said to be" healing properties.
